Frequency of Serial Complete Blood Counts (CBCs)
with Differential and Platelet Count

• Small Event
  • Test immediately after exposure
  • 3 times/day for the initial 2-3 days
  • 2 times/day for the next 3-6 days
• Mass-Casualty Event
  • CBC test frequency will depend on the availability of resources
  • If resources available, consider repeating
    • 3-6 times for the initial 4 days
    • 1-2 times/week until a nadir in neutrophil and platelet counts are defined
    • Repeat as clinically indicated and resources permit
